We—Julia, a writer, and Marie-Julie, a designer— met in 2016 with a shared vision: blending storytelling with art to inspire transformation.Life unfolds in chapters. From being single to becoming a couple, a mother, a carer, through illness, challenges, and adventures— each phase is a unique chapter. As one ends, another begins, often richer and more meaningful than the last.Each of our stories is made up of these moments—experiences that shape and move us.
Each wallpaper and fabric collection is inspired by one of these chapters, capturing the emotions and stories that define us. Crafted by author Julia Leckey and brought to life through the artwork of Marie Julie Trijasson, these designs are a celebration of life’s ever-evolving journey.
Julia’s Story
“Stories have been my world since childhood. My dad’s collection—filled with works by Tolkien, Philip K. Dick, and other literary legends—sparked an insatiable curiosity in me. By the age of seven, I had devoured every book on his shelves. Weekly trips to the local library became a ritual, filling my hands with new books and my imagination with endless worlds. This early passion for storytelling laid the foundation for my creative journey and shaped my love for crafting stories that transport and inspire.
At 39, a cancer diagnosis turned my world upside down. Writing became my sanctuary, offering solace and purpose during uncertain times. My first book, Colourful Creatures, was inspired by the five people who most influenced my life. With 130 stunning illustrations by Co-Founder Marie-Julie Trijasson, it represents joy, creativity, and fearless thinking.
From Colourful Creatures, new creative works have blossomed, such as The First Pirouette, a tale of self-liberation, and I Love Her Red Shoes but Hated Her Outfit, a bold story about authenticity and empowerment. LOCC celebrates the transformative power of storytelling, connecting people through the shared magic of creativity. As Stephen King reminds us, “Life isn’t a support system for art. It’s the other way around.”

Marie Julie’s Story
“I have always cherished storytelling. I grew up in Paris, in an artisan area, and spent most of my childhood in my family’s shop, experiencing the world through the stories of numerous customers. This has always inspired my approach to design and illustration.
I am drawn to exploring and creating connections between spaces, people, and experiences. I am fascinated by storytelling—how a deeply personal feeling can resonate within all of us. I am also amazed by the power of images: how the same details and iconography can be interpreted differently by everyone, and how their meaning can become deeply personal to each of us.
I hope you find a space to wander, to pause, and to reflect within our stories and designs. I hope you can make them your own and find personal meaning within them. That, somehow, they can become your stories too.”
